You will be joining a lean, close-knit development team that builds and maintains a suite of ecommerce websites generating significant revenue across both B2B and B2C channels. The platform is proprietary and in-house, allowing for a unique development experience.
The team consists of Tom, two junior developers, and you. Tom has led this team for over a decade and knows the platform well. Your role will involve taking ownership and building a proper structure within the team.
Approximately 50 to 60% of your time will be spent on hands-on full stack development, including database, back-end services, APIs, and front-end work. The remainder of your time will involve project coordination, mentoring juniors, and assisting Tom with higher-level tasks.
You will have production access from day one, which is not currently available to the juniors.
The technology stack includes Java-based proprietary systems, .NET, C#, SQL Server, Entity Framework, Azure DevOps, Git, RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience with Java is preferred but not mandatory; training support will be provided if needed.
They are looking for candidates with three to five years of professional development experience, ideally in both B2B and B2C environments. The ideal candidate should have a strong attitude, curiosity, and the ability to think through problems comprehensively.
The office is located in Normanton, West Yorkshire, with an expectation of four days a week in the office, although flexibility may be offered for the right candidate. Remote-only arrangements will not be considered.
The salary is up to £50,000, with immediate availability preferred.
