Commercial Finance Business Partner
North London | Hybrid
I’m partnering with a highly profitable, fast-growing FMCG business in North London to hire a Commercial Finance Business Partner who will sit right at the centre of commercial decision making. This is a BRAND NEW role working on a highly commerical, high caliber finance team foucused on company growth.
This is not a role where finance sits on the sidelines. This person will be embedded with the UK sales and commercial teams, shaping pricing, margin, customer strategy and investment decisions across multiple routes to market.
The business operates in a genuinely complex environment. Different products, different channels, different margin dynamics. Grocery multiples, wholesale, cash and carry, foodservice and B2B all behaving very differently. There is no one-size-fits-all answer here, which is exactly why this role exists.
The finance leadership team is experienced, stable and commercially sharp. They’ve deliberately stripped out low-value transactional work so finance can focus on what matters: insight, challenge, judgement and impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as a true commercial partner to UK sales teams, not just producing numbers but shaping decisions
- Leading financial input into pricing changes, promotions and customer negotiations, often at pace
- Analysing margin and volume across multiple channels, understanding the full value chain
- Supporting forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning for a growing UK business
- Attending weekly commercial and sales meetings, offering challenge where needed
- Helping the business decide where to invest, where to push volume and where to say no
You’ll be expected to know the numbers, but more importantly, to understand what sits behind them and what to do next.
What They’re Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong commercial finance experience within FMCG
- Comfortable dealing with major UK retailers as well as wholesale and foodservice channels
- Someone who can influence, challenge and hold their own in commercial discussions
- Curious, commercially minded and comfortable operating with ambiguity
This role suits someone who enjoys complexity, wants exposure, and takes pride in driving tangible bottom-line impact.
