Job Title: Wirer Reporting to: Production Supervisor Overview of Role: To build and wire both prototype and production electronic equipment, working from drawings, circuit diagrams, and engineer’s sketches. Ensuring work is completed to deadlines set by the production team while adhering to wiring best practices, quality standards, and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Manufacture wiring looms and assemble connectors, routing and fitting complex wiring to enclosures and other mechanical structures, including soldering terminations. Accurately assemble equipment to engineering drawings. Inspect own work, checking for electrical errors and ensuring equipment is wired correctly before passing it to the next manufacturing stage. Document and communicate any changes or improvements made during the build process via the correct channels. Follow all procedures as specified in the quality manual. Communicate material shortages with production control and purchasing teams. Maintain a clean and organised workspace. Assist with tool calibration when required. Occasional travel to customer premises may be required. Skills & Experience: Essential: Relevant experience in an electrical wiring role. Ability to work independently using own initiative.Desirable: Basic mechanical assembly skills. Experience in a start-up or pilot production environment. Familiarity with wiring standards used in specialist or highly regulated industries. Experience with terminating and splicing fibre optic assemblies. Personal Attributes: Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office applications. Highly focused with excellent attention to detail. Flexible, conscientious, and diligent attitude. Positive, enthusiastic, and hard-working approach. Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers and other team members. Resilient and adaptable. Strong team player, able to build effective working relationships. Highly organised and methodical, with an eye for detail.Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance. This requires proof of identity, employment history, right to work in the UK, and a minimum of five years’ UK residency
