This is not your standard machine operator role. We’re recruiting for a technically minded operator to join a growing manufacturing business at the start of an exciting new phase of expansion and investment. The successful candidate will join a newly developed production area featuring brand new equipment, new processes and genuine long-term progression opportunities. This is a chance to come in early, learn specialist machinery properly, build real ownership of the operation and grow alongside the department as it develops.

The business is investing heavily into both equipment and people, with clear plans for this role to develop into a future supervisory position as the operation continues to expand. If you’re someone who enjoys machinery, problem solving and being trusted with responsibility rather than simply standing on a repetitive production line all day, this is the kind of opportunity that can genuinely move your career forward.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Opportunity to join a brand new production area from day one
  • Genuine progression into future supervisory responsibilities
  • New machinery, new processes and long-term investment
  • Monday to Friday late shift with no weekends
  • Real training and development on specialist equipment
  • Stable long-term opportunity within a growing manufacturing business
  • A role where operators are trusted, developed and given ownership
  • Chance to become one of the key people within a growing department
The Role

This is a hands-on technical operator position where you’ll play an important part in supporting the launch and development of a newly created processing area. You’ll be learning advanced production equipment, supporting the smooth running of the operation and gradually building the confidence and knowledge needed to become a key person within the late shift structure. This is not the kind of environment where operators simply press buttons and walk away. You’ll be expected to understand the machinery, take ownership of the process and become genuinely involved in how the department develops moving forward.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Setting up, running and monitoring advanced production equipment
  • Supporting machinery changeovers, adjustments and basic troubleshooting
  • Carrying out production and quality checks in line with site standards
  • Completing production documentation accurately
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality and health & safety
  • Supporting the smooth running of the late shift operation
  • Working closely with production and technical teams
  • Helping establish strong processes and standards as the department grows
The Environment

Clean, organised and highly process-driven manufacturing environment. Significant investment into new machinery and site development. Strong focus on quality, standards and continuous improvement. Stable business with ambitious long-term growth plans. Opportunity to join a growing area of the operation early and make a real impact.

What They’re Looking For
  • Previous machine operating or technical production experience
  • Confidence working around machinery or automated equipment
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Someone reliable who takes pride in their work
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow process
  • A calm and consistent approach under pressure
  • Someone looking for long-term progression rather than just another job
Backgrounds That Could Suit
  • Food or drink manufacturing
  • Pharmaceutical or nutraceutical production
  • Technical production or process environments
  • Production technician backgrounds
  • Candidates with some mechanical or engineering understanding
What You Get
  • £31,000 – £33,000 starting package depending on experience
  • Clear progression into future supervisory responsibilities
  • Ongoing training on specialist equipment and processes
  • Genuine long-term career opportunity within a growing operation
  • Monday to Friday late shift structure
  • Opportunity to join a department early and grow with it as it develops
The Step Up

If you’ve been operating machinery for a few years but feel like you’ve hit a ceiling, this is the kind of opportunity that can genuinely change that. You’ll be joining at the start of something new, learning equipment properly, building real responsibility and putting yourself in a position to grow into a future leadership role as the department expands. This isn’t about standing on the same production line doing the same task every day. It’s an opportunity to become one of the key people within a growing operation and build a long-term career around it.
