  • Organising daily production, allocating tasks and responding to changing priorities.
  • Monitoring production performance and addressing issues affecting output, quality, waste or downtime.
  • Investigating process problems and working with relevant colleagues to resolve them.
  • Coaching operators and helping them develop their skills and understanding of the process.
  • Maintaining food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensuring production records and process checks are completed accurately.
  • Working with quality, technical, engineering and planning colleagues to support reliable production.
  • Identifying practical improvements to ways of working, product consistency and efficiency.

What we're looking for

You'll have experience supervising or leading a team within food manufacturing, with a practical understanding of production processes and a willingness to keep learning.

Relevant backgrounds could include confectionery, jam, preserves, sauces or other environments involving cooking, mixing, liquid handling or changes in product consistency.

You'll bring:

  • Experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Team Leader or in a comparable production leadership role.
  • Strong technical curiosity and the ability to understand why a process works.
  • A practical, methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Clear communication and confidence in leading, coaching and motivating operators.
  • A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality requirements.
  • The ability to organise workloads and maintain standards under production pressure.
  • A hands-on attitude, initiative and a desire to develop your expertise.

What's on offer

  • £50,000-£55,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Permanent employment.
  • Monday to Thursday working pattern, 6am-6pm.
  • Responsibility for an established team of eight operators.
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to production performance and process improvement.
