Position: Production Engineer Location: West Sussex (RH20) Reporting to: Production Engineering Manager About the Role We’re seeking a proactive, solutions-driven Production Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, multi-discipline role focused on problem-solving, training, documentation and process improvement. You’ll support operators, optimise processes and improve facilities across multiple product lines to drive quality and efficiency. You’ll be part of a highly capable team delivering practical, creative solutions that save time, reduce downtime and enhance operator performance. Key Responsibilities – Provide support across all production units in the Gradients Division. – Deliver operator training to ensure clear, practical knowledge transfer. – Participate in product builds during induction to gain in-depth knowledge. – Diagnose and resolve operator faults, downtime and process inefficiencies. – Write and simplify documentation and handover notes, supporting ESL operators. – Optimise facilities, tooling and equipment to improve productivity. – Create and manage Bills of Materials, liaising with purchasing and building cost cases. – Lead and support multiple projects, managing priorities and deadlines. – Act as a service provider to internal teams, building strong stakeholder relationships. – Collaborate closely with key stakeholders on continuous improvements. – Support weekly team routines (e.g., Monday huddles, Friday reviews). – Uphold health & safety standards in all activities. Skills & Experience – Strong background in manufacturing/production engineering; cell-led environments advantageous. – Hands-on with tools and a “make it happen” mindset. – CAD/drawing skills (SolidWorks or Solid Edge desirable). – Experience with machine shop or cell-type engineering preferred. – Knowledge of electrical testing beneficial. – Understanding of 5S and lean principles desirable. – Awareness of project management, timelines and deliverables. – Excellent documentation and communication skills. – Strong knowledge of Health & Safety in manufacturing.
