Experienced Same Day Controller Dartford, Kent Monday to Friday  Competitive salary depending on experience Permanent Found Recruitment are working with an established and growing logistics business in Dartford who are looking to add an experienced Same Day Controller to their team. This is a fast-paced, reactive role where things can change by the minute, so we are looking for someone who genuinely understands the same-day logistics environment and knows how to keep things moving when the pressure is on. The role You’ll be responsible for coordinating same-day and urgent transport requirements, working closely with drivers and clients to ensure every job is planned, managed and completed efficiently. You’ll need to be someone who naturally thinks several steps ahead, can prioritise quickly and is comfortable making decisions when things don’t go to plan. Day-to-day responsibilities will include: Coordinating same-day and urgent transport bookings. Planning and allocating work to drivers. Managing live jobs and responding quickly to delays, traffic and last-minute changes. Liaising with clients and drivers throughout the delivery process. Prioritising work based on urgency, location and availability. Finding practical solutions when issues arise. Accurately updating systems and booking information. Building strong relationships with both clients and drivers. Taking ownership and seeing jobs through to completion. About you Previous experience in same-day logistics, transport control, courier control or a very similar environment is essential. We’re looking for someone who has: A strong understanding of same-day logistics and the pressures that come with it. Excellent logistical thinking and the ability to stay several steps ahead. Strong communication and customer service skills. The confidence to deal with drivers and clients professionally, even in challenging situations. Excellent prioritisation and problem-solving skills. A flexible approach and willingness to go the extra mile when needed. A strong team mentality and sense of ownership. Resilience and the ability to stay calm in a busy, high-pressure environment.
