We are looking for a Technical Services Manager to strengthen the technical foundation of the business as it scales. This is a hands-on, Technical Services leadership role reporting directly to the Head of Technical, giving you the chance to own technical services activity across raw materials, customer specifications, and retailer portals, while shaping standards, building capability, and making a visible impact.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day technical services delivery across raw materials, customer specifications, and retailer portals
- Manage customer specifications end-to-end, including writing, reviewing, updating, and submitting
- Lead supplier approval processes, including risk assessment, documentation review, and ongoing compliance
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and records to support audits and growth
- Act as the technical point of contact for customer queries relating to specifications, compliance, and product information
- Support site and supplier audits, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up actions
- Partner with procurement, production, and project teams to ensure technical services enable operational execution and scale-up
- Establish standards, coach stakeholders, and help build future capability within the technical services function
Who weβre looking for:
- Recent hands-on experience writing and managing customer specifications end-to-end
- Confident using customer or retailer portals for submissions, updates, and compliance documentation
- Strong supplier approval experience, including assessment, documentation review, and ongoing compliance management
- Good working knowledge of relevant legislation and technical standards in food and drink manufacturing
- Comfortable being hands-on, detail-focused, and embedded on site
- Practical, organised, and able to work at pace with strong prioritisation skills
- Ambitious individuals hungry to build systems, raise capability, and make a visible impact
Nice-to-have experience:
- Route to role through specifications technologist or technical services progression
- Experience in retailer supplier environments with high expectations and portal standards
- Some factory-facing experience, bringing a pragmatic, hands-on style
- Experience supporting or leading audits with confident technical judgement under pressure
