A fast growing, worldwide fresh produce business specialising in import and export is looking for a proactive Quality Controller to join their onsite team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all products processed and dispatched meet quality, food safety and customer specifications. This is a hands on, operational role offering variety, responsibility and close collaboration with internal teams and third party partners in a business that values flexibility, teamwork and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee product arrivals, despatch and ensuring all products are packed correctly and within specification
- Work closely with Line Leaders and Online QC to maintain quality standards and manage grade outs
- Manage workload in line with daily orders and production demands
- Monitor shelf life, customer samples and carry out associated quality testing
- Complete all required quality, food safety and compliance documentation accurately
- Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards across all operations
- Work closely with the on site Management team and third party packing partners
- Monitor productivity of Production Operatives at third party operations, providing training, feedback and support
- Provide clear and effective quality feedback to Management teams and Customers
- Investigate product rejections, follow up actions and complete all necessary reports

Your Background
- Previous experience working within a fresh produce environment with responsibility for monitoring product quality is a strong advantage
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong quality mindset
- Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety standards
- Comfortable completing documentation and following written and verbal instructions
- Confident working under pressure in a fast paced environment
- A flexible, can do attitude with the ability to use initiative
- Comfortable working as part of a small team and with third party partners
- Basic understanding of stock control systems
- Confident using Microsoft Office, with SAP experience beneficial
Languages
- English required
- Spanish or Eastern European languages an advantage but not essential
