A growing company delivering high-quality commercial mechanical, electrical, construction and engineering installations across the UK. Due to continued growth, looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
Seeking a highly organised and experienced Contracts Manager, preferably with an Electrical Bias, to oversee contractual agreements across various projects within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical and mechanical contracts from tender stage through to completion, overseeing contract negotiations, programme delivery and cost control, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards whilst ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in project management tools to deliver seamless contract execution and minimise risks. The Contracts Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting our teams to achieve strategic objectives efficiently.
Responsibilities- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and review of contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and organisational policies.
- Manage the lifecycle of contracts from inception through to completion, including variations and renewals.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to align contractual obligations with project timelines and budgets.
- Utilise Microsoft Project and other project management software to monitor contract milestones and deliverables.
- Maintain organised records of all contractual documentation using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Conduct risk assessments related to contractual obligations and propose mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with legal advisors when necessary to resolve contractual disputes or ambiguities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members regarding contract procedures and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes to enhance efficiency.
- Proven management experience in a similar role, preferably with Electrical bias, with strong leadership and decision-making skills to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
- Demonstrable expertise in negotiation, organisational skills, and leadership roles related to contract oversight.
- Extensive knowledge of project management tools including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant IT systems.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
- A good understanding of health & safety, CDM regulations, risk assessment and compliance.
- Familiarity with legal aspects of contracts within the construction industry is preferred.
- Valid driving licence is required for site visits or meetings at various locations.
