We are recruiting a Transport Planner to join a well‑established logistics operation in Shiremoor. This is a key role responsible for coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring efficient route planning, and maintaining high customer service standards. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transport operations to meet delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to optimise routes.
- Monitor transport performance and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, vehicle checks, and deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and safety standards.
- Work closely with management to improve logistics processes and efficiencies.
- Use logistics software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for planning and reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong management, leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience using logistics or transport planning software (highly desirable).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or distribution environment is beneficial.
