A highly respected international engineering organisation is looking for an experienced Principal Engineer specialising in Food Technology and Process Systems to join its engineering leadership team. This is a senior technical role where you will lead the development of complex process machinery used across the global food and beverage sector.
The business designs and manufactures specialist equipment used worldwide for food and beverage research, development and product testing. Their systems support innovation and product development for many of the world's most recognised brands across both industry and academia. With around 90 employees and a strong global export presence, the company has built a reputation for engineering excellence, technical innovation and long term customer partnerships. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping highly specialised food technology systems used internationally.
What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the technical lead for the specification, design and development of food technology process systems
- Work directly with customers to translate product concepts into engineered process solutions
- Lead design reviews across mechanical, electrical, electronic and process disciplines
- Oversee projects from concept through design, testing, Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing
- Lead product safety and compliance activities including risk assessments and CE compliance
- Maintain technical construction files and product documentation
- Support development of the Food Technology product roadmap
- Create and manage project plans including timelines, milestones and risk management
- Line manage the Lead Process Engineer within the team
- Collaborate closely with engineering, sales and operations to deliver successful projects

Your Background
- Strong experience in process engineering within the food industry
- Experience developing systems that combine mechanical, electrical and process functions
- Proven experience delivering projects across the full product lifecycle from concept through to delivery
- Experience with product safety, compliance and risk assessment for electro mechanical systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and stakeholders
- Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
- Experience leading engineering projects and supporting engineering teams
