We're partnering with a mission-driven digital learning company to find an experienced Lead Product Designer to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a high-impact role, shaping design vision and practice across multiple product areas in a fast-evolving, AI-enabled environment.

The Role

As Lead Product Designer, you'll operate across three core product streams, bringing cohesion, clarity, and elevated design standards. You'll work closely with senior leadership while also remaining hands-on setting direction, unblocking teams, and directly contributing to product delivery. This is a unique opportunity to influence both what gets built and how it gets built, in a company where learning outcomes and user impact are at the heart of every decision.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define and own the overarching product design vision across multiple product areas
  • Align and coordinate design work across teams, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders, including Product leadership
  • Lead by example through hands-on design work, particularly in the early stages
  • Raise the overall design bar—improving craft, pace, and impact
  • Support teams to ship high-quality work quickly, leveraging modern, AI-driven workflows
  • Bring clarity to product and design direction, especially during a period of growth and change
  • Champion user-centric thinking, with a strong focus on measurable outcomes

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Lead or Principal Product Design role, ideally in a scaling tech environment
  • Strong balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution
  • Experience designing for learning, behaviour change, or outcome-driven products (EdTech or similar is highly desirable)
  • Deep understanding of how design influences user engagement and real-world outcomes, not just interface quality
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative environments, including AI-supported workflows
  • Ability to move quickly from idea to validation, rather than relying on long, traditional design cycles
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing at leadership level

Working Style

  • Remote-first, with flexibility to work from a London office 1–2 days per week if preferred
  • Collaborative, distributed team environment
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership

Why This Role?

  • Join a purpose-led organisation focused on meaningful user outcomes
  • Play a key role in shaping product direction and design culture at scale
  • Work in an environment embracing AI as a creative and productivity partner
  • Opportunity to make a tangible impact within a defined, high-visibility contract
