We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Electronic Engineer to contribute to the design and development of mixed-signal embedded systems. This role will span the full development lifecycle, from circuit and PCB design to firmware implementation and validation. You will play a key part in delivering robust, production-ready hardware platforms integrated with custom embedded software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Hardware Design

  • Design mixed-signal embedded hardware, including power regulation, sensor interfacing, and signal conditioning
  • Capture schematics and execute multi-layer PCB layout with impedance-controlled routing
  • Validate designs against EMC, thermal, and mechanical requirements

Firmware Development

  • Develop embedded C/C++ firmware for STM32 microcontrollers
  • Implement low-level peripheral drivers, RTOS tasks, and communication protocols
  • Integrate and debug embedded network stacks

Testing and Validation

  • Design and build manual and automated test rigs for validation and production support
  • Interface test systems with measurement/control equipment for continuous feedback
  • Conduct real-time debugging and issue tracking during system bring-up

Manufacturing Support

  • Collaborate with CEMs during prototype and scale up
  • Provide design for manufacture feedback, manage BOMs, and review assembly/test documentation
  • Lead pre-compliance testing for safety and EMI certifications (CE, UKCA)
  • Enforce strong version control using Git across hardware and firmware repositories
  • Produce clear design reviews, test plans, and validation reports

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in mixed-signal hardware design, including analog and digital circuitry
  • Skilled in high-speed digital design, with practical experience in impedance-controlled routing and signal integrity for USB and Ethernet interfaces.
  • Experienced with a wide range of analog sensor interfaces, particularly in optical sensing applications, including photodiodes, phototransistors, and signal conditioning for low-light detection.
  • Skilled in Altium Designer for schematic capture and multi-layer layout
  • Comfortable building and maintaining test rigs for embedded systems validation
  • Experienced in embedded C/C++ development for STM32 MCUs using HAL and LL
  • Strong understanding of embedded communication protocols and network stacks
  • Experienced in working with Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs)
  • Familiar with certification processes, including EMI and safety standards
  • Proficient in version control using Git in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Familiar with RTOS-based development, timing-sensitive systems, and low-level debugging
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, organization, and ownership of tasks in agile workflows

BONUS COMPETENCIES

  • Experience working with pre-compliance EMC testing tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano platform, including peripheral interfacing, GPIO, and deploying embedded Linux-based applications.
  • Familiarity with thermal management in enclosure-integrated electronics
  • Knowledge of mechanical constraints, stack-ups, and packaging for embedded systems
  • Experience with sensor calibration, filtering, and analog signal integrity conside
