The opportunity
We are looking for a confident, personable and proactive Senior Legal Admin Assistant to join our Residential Property team in Norwich.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established and award-winning legal practice, providing essential administrative support to our property lawyers and helping to ensure our clients receive a high-quality and efficient service.
You will be joining a busy and supportive team where attention to detail, organisation and a proactive approach are key.
About you and key responsibilities
You will play an important role in supporting our Residential Property team and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day matters.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Meeting and greeting clients and visitors in a professional manner.
- Drafting and issuing sale contracts and standard conveyancing documentation.
- Ordering mortgage redemption figures and property searches.
- Preparing Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms and post-completion paperwork.
- Supporting the team with exchanges and completions.
- Answering telephone calls, taking accurate messages and responding to basic client queries.
- Preparing quotes and assisting with client onboarding.
- Providing administrative support to the wider team during busy periods.
- Filing, scanning and maintaining accurate client records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assisting lawyers with the progression of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion.
Skills and experience required
Previous experience within a residential property or legal environment would be advantageous, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence when dealing with clients, telephone enquiries and visitors.
- The ability to work independently while also being a supportive member of the wider team.
- The ability to adapt and reprioritise in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to use initiative and solve problems.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach.
- A willingness to learn, develop and build knowledge of residential conveyancing.
Training and development
You will receive training and support from our Residential Property team, including:
- Anti-Money Laundering requirements and Lexcel standards.
- Preparing and issuing draft contract packages.
- Obtaining searches, title information and mortgage redemption statements.
- Supporting exchanges and completions.
- Preparing completion and post-completion documentation.
- Understanding the key stages of a residential conveyancing transaction.
- Supporting the team to ensure post-completion registration is completed within the required priority deadlines.
