We are looking to recruit a Solicitor (ideally up to NQ to one-year PQE, but candidates with good experience during training will also be considered) to join our established Commercial Property team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual at the early stages of their career to develop high-quality technical skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The department covers the full range of commercial property work and has particular specialisms in acting for a number of chalet site operators, and also for several local independent free houses and breweries. You will gain exposure to a broad range of commercial property work, working alongside experienced colleagues while progressively building your own caseload and client relationships.

About Us: Formed in 1761, Fosters Solicitors is one of the oldest law firms in England. From that rich heritage we have grown into a modern, vibrant law firm with a culture and values that puts our clients, colleagues and partners at the centre of all we do.

The Opportunity: This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor to develop their career within a well-regarded Commercial Property team. You will work on a varied caseload, building your technical expertise with appropriate supervision, alongside increasing responsibility as your experience grows. Candidates who have or who would like to acquire experience in enfranchisement work including lease extensions would be particularly welcome.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assisting with and managing (as appropriate to experience) a range of commercial property matters, including lease renewals, new leases, freehold sale and purchases, and leasehold extension work.
  • Supporting senior colleagues on more complex transactions, including development matters and high-value deals.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents with appropriate supervision.
  • Building and maintaining effective client relationships, delivering a high standard of client care.
  • Managing your workload effectively to meet deadlines and financial targets.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to support cross-referrals and client service.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management procedures.
  • Taking an active role in your own professional development and contributing to team knowledge sharing.

The Candidate: We are seeking a motivated Solicitor who is keen to develop their career in commercial property law. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in commercial property matters (including experience gained during training).
  • A strong attention to detail and good technical grounding.
  • A proactive and organised approach to managing your workload.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and take on increasing responsibility.

We provide continued development opportunities and encourage progression within the firm. At Fosters Solicitors, we believe in supporting our employees’ professional growth and well-being. We offer:

  • High-quality work and exposure to a broad client base.
  • Structured supervision and ongoing training.
  • A supportive and collegiate working environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
