We are recruiting a Senior/Supervising Social Worker to support Foster Parents and manage placements for looked‑after children. The role involves recruitment, training, assessment, support, and supervision of Foster Parents across Derby, Derbyshire and potentially Nottingham and Nottinghamshire areas.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, assess, support and supervise a range of Foster Parents.
  • Ensure high‑quality placements for looked‑after children.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of fostering and safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Engage and develop working relationships with agencies and professionals.
  • Provide high standard of report writing and use of IT systems.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Social Worker with current HCPC registration.
  • Excellent assessment skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and ability to produce high standard report writing.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures in relation to fostering and safeguarding.
  • Recent experience in fostering and services for children desirable; less experienced candidates will be considered.
  • Self‑starter, enthusiastic, able to work independently while staying connected with team members and Foster Parents.
  • Drive and shared creative vision for fostering.
