At Foster + Partners, visualisation isn’t an afterthought — it’s a critical part of how architecture is imagined, refined and communicated to the world. Our Visualisation team produces imagery that shapes global conversations around design — helping translate complex architectural ideas into compelling, atmospheric and technically precise visuals.
Due to growing project demand, we are looking to hire two Visualisation Artists to join the team. This is an opportunity for strong graduates through to early mid-level artists (2–3 years' experience) who combine serious 3D capability with a clear artistic voice. We’re not targeting senior hires — we’re looking for emerging talent with technical strength, creative ambition, and the hunger to grow within a world-class studio.
If you’re driven by lighting, composition and atmosphere — and excited by the evolving intersection of technology and visual storytelling — this is where it happens.
The opportunity:
- As a Visualisation Artist at Foster + Partners, you’ll create high-quality 2D and 3D imagery supporting some of the most ambitious architectural projects in the world.
- You’ll work closely with architects and senior visualisers to develop concept imagery, exterior views, and atmospheric storytelling that captures both design intent and technical clarity.
- From modelling and scene building to rendering and post-production, you’ll be hands-on across the full image creation process — contributing to stills, animations and presentation material that influence real-world projects at scale.
- You’ll also contribute to maintaining and developing visualisation standards, workflows and research — helping the team evolve as technology continues to advance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating high-quality 2D and 3D architectural imagery
- Developing detailed 3D models to support image and animation production
- Working across rendering and post-production workflows
- Supporting concept art and visual storytelling development
- Assisting with colour grading, matte painting and image refinement
- Maintaining visualisation standards, libraries and archiving systems
- Contributing to workflow development and research initiatives
- Collaborating closely with architectural project teams
- Working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for technically strong, visually ambitious artists. You’ll bring:
- Very strong 3D modelling and rendering capability
- A clear artistic eye and strong understanding of light, composition, atmosphere and visual storytelling
- A portfolio demonstrating high-quality architectural visualisation work
- Exterior imagery is essential — your portfolio must include strong exterior views
- Work where artistic quality, lighting and composition clearly stand out
- 2–3 years' experience ideally (strong graduates also considered)
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for technology and AI-driven workflows
- Familiarity with 3D software such as 3ds Max, Maya, C4D or similar (software background is flexible)
- Knowledge of rendering engines and post-production software
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- A proactive, collaborative mindset
- Animation skills are welcome but not essential — these can be developed internally.
Our team works with a niche C4D-based workflow. Prior experience in this specific setup is not required — full training will be provided. What matters most is your 3D strength and artistic quality.
Why Foster + Partners:
Because this is not just a visualisation role — it’s an opportunity to contribute to the communication of architecture at the highest level. You’ll work alongside world-class designers and visualisers, gain exposure to globally significant projects, and develop your craft within a studio that values both precision and artistry.
If you’re ready to build technically strong, emotionally compelling architectural imagery — and grow within one of the world’s most respected design practices — we’d love to see your work.
