Responsibilities:
- Provide a daily information and research service to architects and designers.
- Research and supply information on materials, companies and alternative solutions located in the Materials Research Centre (MRC).
- Digitally photograph and database new samples entering the MRC and maintain the sample library.
- Maintain and update the MRC sample library, identify gaps and keep existing samples current through regular contact with manufacturers and companies.
- Carry out detailed research for partners, senior partners and architects on thematic or sustainable material and technology issues.
- Undertake in-house or industry collaboration for material/product development and experimentation.
- Provide knowledge feedback on correct usage of different material types and on materials/products/companies used on Foster + Partners projects.
Qualifications:
- Legally able to work in the United Kingdom.
- Able to undertake the responsibilities listed above.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- General understanding of architecture terminology.
- Initiative and proactive approach to daily tasks.
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
- Industrial Design or Architecture qualification or experience would be hugely beneficial.
