The Role
As an Electrical Engineering leader , you’ll play a central role in delivering innovative and technically excellent building services solutions across a wide range of iconic, complex, and sustainable projects. You’ll guide teams, collaborate across disciplines, and represent Foster + Partners at the highest level—both internally and with clients and collaborators.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead and manage the electrical engineering design process across all project stages—from concept to completion.
• Provide technical excellence, strategic input, and creative solutions that challenge convention.
• Work directly with architects and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into visionary designs.
• Inspire, mentor and grow engineering teams with a focus on collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
• Support senior leadership in delivering on project ambitions and wider practice goals.
• Uphold and promote sustainability, digital innovation, and engineering best practices at every stage.
What You Bring
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it).
• Deep technical knowledge and creative insight in electrical building services engineering.
• Proven leadership experience on complex, high-profile projects.
• Mastery of design tools including Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, team leadership, and project coordination skills.
• Strategic thinking with an eye on innovation, delivery, and future-proofing.
• Experience working on international projects.
• Knowledge of global codes and standards (e.g. ASHRAE, IEC, etc.).
• Familiarity with sustainable certifications like LEED, BREEAM or WELL.
• Proficiency with IES or other energy/simulation tools.
• A portfolio of work that shows bold thinking and detailed execution.
