Main Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Paralegal to join our Residential Property/Family Law teams on a permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to support fee earners across a wide range of Residential Property and Family law matters while gaining valuable hands-on experience in two different practice areas.
- Residential Property - the successful candidate will assist with all aspects of the buying and selling process, including preparing and reviewing legal documentation, carrying out property searches, liaising with clients, and supporting with compliance requirements.
- Family Law - the successful candidate will assist solicitors in preparing and managing family law cases, including divorce, financial settlements and private children matters. They will conduct legal research, communicate with clients and perform administrative tasks such as file opening, typing correspondence, billing and sending out payments.
Role Requirements
- Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal secretary in Residential Property or Family law is desirable but not essential.
- Legal qualifications (LLB or LPC) or relevant legal experience.
- Confident and able to work on own initiative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Confident IT skills and previous experience of using a legal case management system is desirable.
Working Hours: 09:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday
