Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Vehicle Mechanic role based at Fosseway Vehicle Centre Ltd in Stretton Under Fosse.

The Vehicle Mechanic will carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.

Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing faults, performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, conducting MOT preparation work, and completing workshop documentation accurately.

The role also involves inspecting vehicles, advising on necessary repairs, ordering or fitting parts, and maintaining a clean, safe workshop environment.

Depending on experience, the Vehicle Mechanic may support or oversee junior team members and contribute to maintaining high standards of customer service and workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance, Maintenance & Repair, and working with Heavy Equipment.
  • Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and safety-related issues.
  • Candidates should possess effective Supervisory Skills to support team coordination and mentoring, where applicable.
  • Candidates should possess a relevant automotive qualification (e. g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and experience as a vehicle mechanic or technician.
