An innovative building solutions business is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager with proven construction industry/contracting experience and success to spearhead their growth within the construction framework sector, specifically with large property asset holders and tier 1-2 framework contractors in the social housing, large scale property asset owners and care home sectors.
The successful candidate will play an active role in leading the development of the company’s sales strategy by building strong new customer relationships. This is a Sales Director Designate position and it is expected the successful candidate will attain the position of Sales Director in 18 months and take a seat on the Company’s Senior Management Team Board. As Sales Director, the candidate will be responsible for building a high performing sales team to drive further new business growth.
The role is national but the ideal candidate will be based within 1 hour's drive of Worcester (office based 2 days per week). The candidate is likely to have a higher qualification and several years experience in sales. They will have experience in tendering and estimating including multimillion pound contracts and dealing with Tier 1 and 2 contractors.
The position is paying £70,000 – £80,000 as SBDM, rising to £100,000 as Sales Director, with a possible bonus of 25% base salary, fully expensed car or car allowance (plus life insurance, pension and PMI after qualifying). The role is office based (Worcester) 2 days a week, with the expectation being you’ll be with clients the other 3 days.
Essential requirements:
- 5 years sales or business development experience
- Large scale property refurbishment, Tier 1-2 contractor, civil engineering or construction sector experience
- Candidate based in Midlands area
- Higher education qualification
- Good standard of spoken and written English
- Numerate and with competent IT skills in CRM, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- The candidate will need to demonstrate drive, energy, commitment and resilience
