JOB PURPOSE: To ensure freight operational requirements are interpreted correctly and services arranged and delivered within service and cost parameters.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dealing with hauliers, agents, pricing teams and internal colleagues to obtain job charges.
- Liaise regularly with hauliers, overseas offices, partners, agents, and clients.
- Update systems with shipment and costing information as required.
- Customs clearance (Import and export) using internal systems.
- Resolve any issues during the shipping period, communicating any delays to the relevant departments.
- Actively identifying opportunities to reduce transport cost and improve margins.
- Build strong internal and external working relationships with customers, colleagues & suppliers.
- Ability to confidently negotiate rates with hauliers to get the best price and service for the business.
- Proactively work on identifying improvement opportunities and effectively implement any changes.
- Sending invoices via Email, Post or any method customers require.
- Ensure customers are invoiced in a proactive timely manner and within a certain timeframe.
- Working with internal departments to ensure smooth transitioning during changing times.
- Supporting internal departments where required on daily operational tasks.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety relating to your role, site, and colleagues.
- Undertake other responsible tasks that may be required from time to time as directed by the needs of the business and/or your Line Manager.
- Complete internal training courses as and when required.
Must have experience in European Road freight/shipping and knowledge of Customs formalities.
Pay: £26,000.00 per year
