Coates Recruitment is working with a long-established and highly respected engineering manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced Stores Supervisor to oversee its busy Stores function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in engineering, manufacturing or industrial stores who enjoys leading a small team while remaining hands-on. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring materials, components and tooling are available to support production, maintaining accurate stock control and helping drive continuous improvements across the department.
Working closely with Production, Purchasing and Planning teams, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the business while maintaining high standards of organisation, traceability and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the day-to-day running of the Stores department
- Manage the receipt, storage and issue of materials, components and tooling
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company’s ERP/MRP system
- Carry out stock checks, cycle counts and investigate stock discrepancies
- Coordinate goods inwards, despatch and courier collections
- Ensure production kits and materials are prepared in line with manufacturing schedules
- Support and supervise Stores personnel, allocating workload and priorities
- Drive continuous improvements to stock control, material flow and warehouse organisation
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and compliance
- Stores, warehouse or inventory control within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Stock control, goods inwards and despatch processes
- ERP or MRP systems
- Supervising or leading a small team
- Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Forklift Truck Licence (advantageous but not essential)
- Up to £18.00 per hour depending on experience
