Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason/builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, installing, and repairing stone structures with precision and craftsmanship. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of durable, aesthetically pleasing stonework that meets project specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, shape, and lay stones using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to achieve precise fits and finishes.
- Mix mortar and other adhesives to secure stones in place, ensuring structural integrity and visual appeal.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and project plans to determine the correct placement and specifications of stonework.
- Operate power tools including grinders, drills, and saws safely and effectively during installation processes.
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to coordinate project tasks seamlessly.
- Perform repairs on existing stone structures by replacing damaged stones or reapplying mortar as needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry or stonemasonry with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, as well as power tools like grinders and saws.
- Knowledge of bricklaying techniques and general carpentry skills enhances versatility on site.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications accurately.
- Familiarity with roofing techniques related to stonework installations is a plus.
- Basic welding skills are desirable for specialized structural repairs or custom fabrications.
- Strong attention to detail combined with physical stamina for demanding manual labor tasks.
