The Role

We are looking for an experienced, organised and commercially aware Production Manager to take ownership of live event projects from initial brief and quotation through to onsite delivery and final reconciliation.

You will coordinate clients, internal departments, venues, suppliers, crew, equipment and logistics, ensuring each project is delivered safely, professionally, on time and within budget.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong client management, practical production knowledge and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-moving live environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
  • Take ownership of projects from initial brief through to completion.
  • Develop production plans, schedules, budgets and event documentation.
  • Lead client, venue and internal production meetings.
  • Coordinate event timings, access, transport, accommodation and logistics.
  • Keep project information accurate and communicate changes clearly.
  • Identify risks, gaps and potential issues early, putting practical solutions in place.
  • Use AI and digital tools appropriately to improve planning, documentation, communication and project delivery, while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and professional oversight.
  • Crew, Equipment and Suppliers
  • Work closely with STORM’s Technical, Warehouse, Print, Scenic and Creative teams.
  • Confirm equipment, crew, transport and supplier requirements within the required timescales.
  • Source, brief and manage freelance crew, suppliers and specialist contractors.
  • Review supplier quotations and ensure the right balance of quality, value and reliability.
  • Ensure all teams have the information and resources required to prepare projects successfully.
  • Client Management
  • Act as a key point of contact throughout the planning and delivery process.
  • Build strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery.
  • Translate client objectives into practical production solutions.
  • Manage expectations around budgets, timings, technical requirements and changes in scope.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the event or provide additional STORM services.
  • Onsite Delivery
  • Lead event builds, rehearsals, live delivery and breakdowns.
  • Manage crew, suppliers, schedules and client requirements onsite.
  • Make clear and timely decisions when plans change or issues arise.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, service and professionalism.
  • Ensure the final event reflects the agreed creative and production plans.
  • Commercial Management
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and quotations.
  • Track costs, purchase orders, supplier commitments and additional client requests.
  • Protect project margins while maintaining the required quality.
  • Ensure changes in scope are approved and charged appropriately.
  • Complete project reconciliations promptly and accurately.
  • Review completed projects and identify improvements for future delivery.
  • Health and Safety
  • Take responsibility for health and safety planning across allocated projects.
  • Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and event safety documentation.
  • Ensure crew, suppliers and contractors follow STORM and venue procedures.
  • Promote safe and professional working practices onsite.
  • Team Support
  • Provide direction and support to Assistant Production Managers.
  • Delegate effectively while retaining overall project accountability.
  • Share knowledge and support the development of less experienced team members.
  • Contribute to improvements in STORM’s systems, processes and ways of working.

About You

You will

  • Have strong experience managing live events, technical productions or brand experiences.
  • Be confident taking ownership of complex projects and budgets.
