About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver customers’ shopping trips across the region, from Lands‑End to John O’Groats.

The role involves driving, unloading, and providing an excellent customer experience with a smile.

Pay starts at £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

We commit to a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours a week, or if you prefer, a minimum of 12 hours.

Availability windows

Sunday 19:00‑23:00; Wednesday 13:00‑22:30; Thursday 19:00‑23:00; Friday 19:00‑23:00; Saturday 13:00‑23:00.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these times and you will receive at least three weeks’ notice of your shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the van and trays are clean and neatly organised.
  • Leave the back yard clean and free of litter, picking up any rubbish you see.
  • Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
  • Load the van as required and check the van for roadworthiness.
  • Communicate with customers about order changes, substitutions, or refunds.
  • Handle products and deliveries as if they were your own.
  • Inform customers that they will not be charged more for substitutions.
  • Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
  • Call the customer before arriving early.
  • Call the store if you are 30 minutes or more late.

  • Respond quickly to changing customer needs and adapt within the store.
  • Be energetic and driven, balancing home and work to achieve personal goals.

  • Hold a UK/EU/EEA full or automatic driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
  • Adhere to GB Domestic Driving Rules.
