Job Description:

The Graphic Designer will play a key role in creating compelling visual content across a wide range of projects within the Strategy and Energy Consultancy team. This includes producing social media assets, client-branded reports, infographics, 2D animations, event materials, and other creative deliverables. The successful candidate will have experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop, and able to apply these tools to deliver high-quality, engaging design outputs. You will work closely with the Communications and Marketing team to ensure all creative assets are cohesive, impactful, and aligned with brand and project objectives. Strong communication and time-management skills are essential, as the role involves balancing multiple client needs, managing competing deadlines, and delivering work to a consistently high standard. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and a team player and have a keen eye for detail across the design output and written copy. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in a consultancy environment contributing to influential projects across sustainability and marketing. You will learn from experienced marketing professionals, gain exposure to clients, and work with a variety of different tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce designed content (including animations, stills, videos, and infographics) for clients' websites, social media, and events using Adobe Creative Cloud programmes (particularly Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop).
  • Format and design reports, briefings, and presentations to a professional standard.
  • Develop innovative ideas to enhance the impact of graphics and reports produced by the Team.
  • Edit and produce engaging video content for various audiences, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Ensure that all assets are designed in accordance with each client's brand guidelines, utilising a range of techniques and implementing innovative ideas to meet budget and timescale constraints.
  • Provide social media support when required, including creating and posting content.
  • Assist in the creation of paid advertising and promoted posts including the development and evaluation of creative assets.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all outputs are delivered on time and pass through appropriate quality assurance and approval processes.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Stay up to date with emerging design trends, tools, and techniques.

There is a need to build strong relationships across the team as you will contribute to projects across a range of subject areas including heating, smart energy, energy efficiency, infrastructure, housing, and fuel poverty. You may also work with other teams across the organisation.

Anticipated start date: 1st April 2026

Duration: 4-month internship

Qualifications Requirements:

  • We work with clients across the energy and environment sector. Interest in or experience of climate change and energy policy is desired but not essential.
  • A solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Graphic design qualifications desirable.
  • Experience of working with SharePoint is desirable, although not essential.
  • Competence in using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word design (including other Microsoft Office suite programmes) for the purpose of designing professional reports and event materials.
  • The ability to manage several projects and deliver on brief and on time, whilst proactively managing the Client and Team expectations as part of your project management processes.
  • Ability and passion to liberate content, applying creativity that optimises content is key.
  • A professional and discreet manner when handling confidential information verbally or in writing.
  • A 'can do' attitude when it comes to delivery.
  • Always looking at the bigger picture and trying to come up with the best solution.
  • Time management skills and strong process management.
  • Strong and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Focus and attention to detail and quality is paramount.
