Academics Ltd is currently seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming and supportive school in Bexleyheath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking for a long-term part-time role within a thriving educational environment.
As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises remain safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Opening and securing the school premises each day
- Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and general handyman duties
- Undertaking routine health and safety inspections across the site
- Ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, tidy and well maintained
- Setting up classrooms, halls and other areas for school events and activities
- Monitoring site security and reporting maintenance concerns promptly
- Supporting deliveries, contractor visits and site access arrangements
- Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep of school facilities and equipment
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative or similar role
- Good practical maintenance, repair and DIY skills
- Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Flexible, hands-on and dependable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Part-time position working 20 hours per week
- Competitive hourly rate of 15+ per hour
