Custom Cages is the leading manufacturer of Motorsport Roll Cages in the UK. Serving professional Motorsport teams is the driving force behind what we do, designing and developing bespoke roll cages and motorsport solutions to meet customer needs and MSA/FIA conformities.
As a Design Engineer, you will be working alongside our Engineers, Production team, and skilled fabrication department. This role involves creating 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and supporting builds and production for Automotive OEMs to top tier Motorsport teams and everyone in-between. Collaboration with other departments and continuous improvement initiatives are also key aspects of this position. Located at our HQ in Daventry, the role is in a fast-paced environment with every day presenting new projects and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- CAD oriented role with experience in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor or similar CAD software required.
- The ability to understand and create engineering drawings.
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or closely related subject; HND or Degree preferred.
- An interest in cars and/or motorsport is advantageous.
- Knowledge or understanding of CMM systems.
- A logical thought process with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with customers, colleagues, and other departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, numeracy and IT are essential for interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills are needed to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to the work environment.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential skills.
- A CAD competency trial will be required.
