Welcome to Fosse Children’s Services! We’re seeking passionate Senior Residential Support Workers to be instrumental leaders in achieving positive outcomes for our children and young people. With a strong focus on promoting welfare and safeguarding, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where both staff and young people thrive. Your guidance will empower the team to provide children with the care, security, and support they need to flourish. Main responsibilities:
- Build strong, professional relationships with young people, providing day-to-day care.
- Encourage young people to develop a positive sense of self and identity.
- Promote educational and developmental opportunities.
- Support their health and well-being, fostering social inclusion and community engagement.
- Manage and encourage positive behaviours and address challenges as per guidelines.
- Apply trauma-informed practices with empathy and resilience.
- Collaborate with young people, families, colleagues, and agencies for the best outcomes.
- Support in maintaining family relationships through home visits, as per their Placement Plan.
- Help with placement plans for young people, families, and key contacts.
- Maintain high-quality records according to Fosse’s policies.
- Assist with domestic tasks and preparing nutritious meals with young people.
- Lead shifts in the absence of the Deputy or Registered Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
- NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children and Young People.
- Proficient numeracy, literacy and IT skills (GCSE or above in English and Maths).
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or adults.
- Working understanding of key legislations and regulations.
- High-level communication skills, using various communication aids.
- Committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of children.
- Good organisational, administrative, and delegation skills.
- Empathy and resilience towards others.
- Positive attitude towards diversity, independence, and inclusion.
