This an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced travel consultant to join our amazing Golf team. The role will eventually include global travel to fantastic destinations attending sporting events, being the face of Forward Travel and working with the event organisers.
Role Description
Leading a small team, the Golf Travel Manager is responsible for managing and delivering exceptional travel services to high-profile clients, including professional athletes and VIPs. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong people management skills, and the ability to coordinate complex travel logistics across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage complex worldwide itineraries and reservations, ensuring all travel arrangements meet client expectations by utilising detailed client profiles. This includes booking flights, accommodation, ground transportation, and VIP services.
- Coordinate and manage travel for high-profile and professional sports clients, ensuring a seamless experience and building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Handle travel amendments efficiently, including changes, cancellations, and ticket reissues through the GDS and other booking platforms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide on-site event travel management support globally, including hotel allocation, coordination, and overall logistics for events.
- Oversee daily team operations, ensuring smooth workflow, productivity, and service quality while reporting directly to the Operations Director.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in corporate travel management.
- Expertise in Travelport GDS preferred but not essential, including complex booking modifications, reissues, and refunds.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver fast, effective solutions for clients.
- Outstanding communication skills to liaise confidently with players, management, and partners.
- Interest in golf is welcome but not essential.
- Proven people management abilities, with experience motivating, developing, and managing teams to achieve high performance.
Other information:
- Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday (09:00–17:00 UK time). Occasional after-hours and weekend support may be required. Event hours abroad may vary.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid – at least 2 days per week in the Halifax office and 3 days from home. More flexible arrangements can be considered.
- Travel: Approximately 8–10 weeks of travel per year.
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience (details provided upon application).
