This is a full-time hybrid role (either Sowerby Bridge or Manchester) working role for a Group Travel Consultant, with the flexibility to work from home. The Group Travel Consultant is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing travel arrangements for groups, including corporate clients, leisure groups, educational tours, sports teams, and special interest travel. This role requires strong organisational skills, destination knowledge, supplier negotiation abilities, and exceptional customer service.
- Group Travel Planning & Coordination
- Design customized group travel itineraries based on client needs and budget
- Research destinations, accommodations, transportation, and activities
- Coordinate flights, hotels, ground transportation, excursions, and special events
- Manage rooming lists, travel documents, and booking deadlines
- Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary contact for group leaders and stakeholders
- Conduct consultations to understand group objectives and preferences
- Provide travel recommendations and expert advice
- Handle client inquiries, changes, and problem resolution
- Vendor & Supplier Negotiation
- Negotiate group rates with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and venues
- Maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers
- Review contracts and ensure terms align with client expectations
- Budgeting & Financial Management
- Prepare detailed proposals and cost breakdowns
- Track deposits, payments, and final balances
- Monitor group budgets to ensure profitability and cost control
- Operations & Logistics
- Oversee booking timelines and travel documentation requirements
- Ensure compliance with passport, visa, and insurance requirements
- Coordinate on-site logistics when necessary
- Manage last-minute changes or travel disruptions
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong Corporate Travel Experience, specialising in the group travel sector.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with high-level communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- High attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to manage multiple group bookings simultaneously
Personal Attributes
- Reliable and flexible with working hours

Desirable
- Experience using GDS systems (Travelport preferred)
- Familiarity with education, sports including Ski, and corporate groups.
