Forward Role have partnered with a premium retailer that operates in a high-intent, high-AOV category and has built a strong customer base on a solid brand range, competitive pricing, and genuine expertise. They're now bringing key capabilities in-house and looking for a Head of eCommerce to take full ownership of the digital function. This is a builder role with real commercial accountability, reporting directly to the Founder.

What You'll Own

  • Full accountability for online revenue, conversion, and margin targets
  • Paid search strategy and execution across Google Shopping, Search, and Performance Max (our single biggest acquisition channel, recently brought in-house)
  • End-to-end site experience: product pages, navigation, checkout, and CRO
  • Email and CRM strategy, lifecycle programmes, segmentation, and retention
  • Social media presence and organic search as longer-term growth levers
  • Team building: hiring and developing a small in-house eCommerce team over 6 to 12 months

What We're Looking For

  • Proven track record in a senior eCommerce role with P&L or revenue ownership
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in Google Ads, particularly Shopping campaigns, feed optimisation, and bidding strategy
  • Strong commercial instinct with an understanding of acquisition efficiency and margin management
  • Experience owning email and CRM programmes with a clear view on how to build retention
  • Comfortable with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify or Magento and the wider MarTech stack
  • Ability to recruit and lead a small team
  • Experience in fashion, eyewear, or branded consumer goods is a plus
