Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support. We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a bold new direction in service delivery? We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader in Torbay. As part of our new GIA – Growth in Action structure, we're offering a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader to help shape and lead our evolving service in Torbay. This role will be an integral part of the service as we move toward a more integrated, dynamic approach.

About the role: You will oversee the delivery of the criminal justice part of the service as well as all round service support to the team in Torbay. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about working with partners, embedding new processes and supporting the growth of the recovery services in the area.

Who are we? Growth in Action (GIA) is an alliance between:

  • Torbay Recovery Initiatives (TRI) – Drug and alcohol service
  • Torbay Domestic Abuse Service (TDAS) – Domestic abuse service
  • Leonard Stocks Centre (LSC) – Homelessness hostel

We are influenced by current, past and future service users and those who are passionate about making a positive impact in Torbay.

Why do it differently?

  • Current systems are difficult to navigate
  • Too many people involved in someone’s care/road to recovery
  • Many different referrals
  • Reduce stigma
  • Services are currently designed by the wrong people
  • People having to tell their story multiple times
  • To make us future proof and more cost effective with reduced government funds

What are we working towards?

  • Services across the alliance working together
  • Everything coproduced
  • No wrong door approach
  • Tell your story once
  • Continuity of recovery worker
  • People before processes
  • Being inclusive and diverse
