Healthcare Assistant
Location: Carlisle & Penrith
Contract: Permanent – Full Time

About the role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll focus on the general health needs of service users and support the delivery of tailored interventions that promote recovery and wellbeing.
This position is part of an already established team in the north of Cumbria, you will be working alongside a team of professionals, ranging from health and well being nurses, independent prescribers, criminal justice workers and recovery workers. The main purpose is to working between Carlisle and Penrith as well as outreach services across the area working within the alcohol service, with individuals with identified opioid and alcohol issues and conduct assessments and referrals.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering clinical interventions and improving healthcare access
- Conducting BBV testing, healthcare assessments, and community medically assisted alcohol detoxifications
- Providing wound care assessments, ECGs, and other general healthcare activities
- Undertaking training in basic life support and anaphylaxis to confidently manage medical emergencies
About you
To succeed as a Healthcare Assistant, you will ideally have.
- Experience in the drug and alcohol sector is ideal
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant preferred
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
- Committed to compassionate care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
