Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support. We have almost 200 services around England and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.

As an IOM Coordinator, you will work closely with Police and Probation colleagues to support members of the public who may have transgressed the law, helping to reduce their reoffending and facilitate their recovery journey. You will offer care coordination, advice, support and guidance to these individuals regarding the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse. With support from the wider Recovery Coordination team, you will provide tailored guidance in minimising harmful behaviour and, if required, support those into service should they need more substantial support.

You will take a whole person holistic approach, ensuring that every service user's package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person. The IOM unit in County Durham is part of the Safe Durham Partnership. They support prolific offenders to reduce their offending by addressing their criminogenic needs.

We are committed to fair chances for all and making sure everyone can access the help and support they need to realise their potential. By joining our teams of passionate individuals, you will be contributing to making this happen. You can really make the difference by believing in our service users and their ability to make positive changes when they don’t always believe in themselves.

Our teams provide support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. This role will ensure that we are able to provide specialist, tailored support to enable service users to make positive changes and afford us the knowledge and resources to reach and engage people with a range of needs within our communities.

Waythrough (formerly Humankind) is an equal opportunities employer. We value unique perspectives and experiences that everyone can bring, and fully understand the strength in diversity and inclusion. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. If you have a genuine passion for working for us, we want to hear from you. We also welcome applications from people with lived experience with substance use.
