Overview
Our client is a fast-growing mobile EV charging business delivering ultra-rapid DC charging to OEM and fleet vehicles at major UK ports. They are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee multi-site port operations, manage small on-site teams, and ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily mobile EV charging operations across multiple UK ports.
- Lead and develop teams of 2–4 operatives per site working 10-hour shifts.
- Act as the main operational contact for OEMs and partners including Wallenius Wilhelmsen, National Vehicle Distributors, and BCA.
- Ensure vehicles receive 12-volt battery boosts and HV traction battery charging to agreed state of charge.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards.
- Deliver clear reporting on performance, utilisation, and KPIs.
- Support the scaling of operations to new ports and customers.
Success Measures
- Consistent achievement of OEM and partner service levels.
- High-performing, stable operational teams with low absence and turnover.
- Measurable improvements in productivity, turnaround times, and asset utilisation.
- Positive feedback from OEMs and logistics partners.
- Zero serious health & safety incidents.
- Clear, accurate, and actionable operational reporting.
Experience & Skills
- Proven operations management experience in automotive, EV, logistics, ports, or similar environments.
- Strong people management and leadership capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of health & safety and operational compliance.
- Experience implementing systems, processes, and performance reporting.
- Full UK driving licence.
