The Material Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of aviation parts, tools, and consumables within the Stores operation. The role involves maintaining accurate stock control, coordinating the movement of materials, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards to support aircraft maintenance activities.
Job Accountabilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store parts and materials accurately in line with Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to avoid shortages, maintaining optimum inventory levels.
- Issue parts, tools, and consumables to maintenance teams as per requests.
- Coordinate the movement of materials across stations to meet operational demands and operational priorities.
- Ensure all parts are handled appropriately to prevent damage and ensure compliance with storage and handling standards.
- Ensure materials are processed in compliance with CAA, EASA Part 145, and company quality standards.
- Support audits by providing detailed stock reports and evidence of regulatory compliance.
- Accurately update stock records in ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in stores operations, focusing on efficiency and accuracy.
Operating Environment:
The role is based in Manchester, England. The normal working day is between 07:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday with 30 minutes unpaid lunch.
Experience:
Two years stores experience within aviation (or similar industry).
