The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Late Shift Supervisor to lead an established workshop team, ensuring commercial vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician who enjoys leading by example. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership skills, ensuring the workshop operates efficiently while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining compliance at all times. The Role
As Late Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the afternoon and evening workshop operation, ensuring technicians are working effectively, repairs are completed to a high standard and customer expectations are consistently exceeded. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the workshop team throughout the late shift.
- Working closely with the Workshop Controller to allocate work efficiently.
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles.
- Diagnosing faults and identifying worn or defective components in line with DVSA standards.
- Ensuring all repairs are completed safely, accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Completing workshop documentation and job cards accurately.
- Using Keyloop/Kerridge workshop management systems.
- Maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and customers.
- Promoting a positive, motivated and professional working environment.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Level 3 NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds qualification in HGV or LCV Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring technicians.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
- High attention to detail.
- A positive attitude with the ability to motivate others.
- The flexibility to support changing workshop priorities.
