Our client is one of the UK's leading parking management companies, operating over 3,500 sites across the UK and Ireland. Established for over 50 years, the business continues to grow through innovation, technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to customers and clients.

Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Generalist HR Manager to join their team at their Central London headquarters in Marylebone.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the Generalist HR Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day HR function, providing professional support and guidance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This is a hands-on role requiring a commercially focused HR professional who can balance strategic initiatives with operational HR responsibilities across a multi-site national workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance issues. Provide advice and guidance to managers on employment legislation and best practice. Support investigations, hearings and appeals. Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Recruitment & Talent Management: Support recruitment activities across multiple departments and locations. Develop talent attraction and retention strategies. Assist with succession planning and workforce development initiatives. Support onboarding and induction programmes.
  • HR Operations: Maintain and develop HR policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice. Oversee HR administration processes and employee records. Produce HR reports, metrics and management information.
  • Learning & Development: Identify training needs across the business. Coordinate employee development programmes. Support leadership and management development initiatives. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Employee Engagement: Lead employee engagement initiatives. Support wellbeing and diversity programmes. Assist in developing a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Manage employee communications and engagement activities.
  • HR Projects: Lead and support HR improvement projects. Contribute to organisational change initiatives. Review and improve HR systems and processes. Support business growth through effective workforce planning.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Generalist HR Manager position.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Previous experience supporting a multi-site workforce.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 minimum (Level 7 desirable).
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
