This isn’t a clipboard-and-policing role. This is a hands‑on Health & Safety position where you’ll be out on site, building relationships, supporting teams, and making safety work in the real world — not just on paper.
THE ROLE
You’ll support multiple sites, working closely with managers and technicians to ensure risks are understood, managed, and controlled. This role is ideal for someone who:
- Likes being visible on site
- Builds trust quickly
- Takes a practical, common-sense approach to safety
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Supporting site teams with practical health & safety advice
- Conducting site visits, inspections, and audits
- Identifying risks and implementing safe systems of work
- Supporting incident & near‑miss investigations (including RIDDOR)
- Promoting a positive safety culture (not a tick‑box one)
- Assisting with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
- Encouraging proactive behaviours (housekeeping, reporting, etc.)
- Supporting environmental compliance (waste, chemicals, etc.)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence & willingness to travel
- Experience in a multi‑site, operational environment
- Strong understanding of risk assessments, safe systems of work, incident investigation
- Confident communicator — able to engage with all levels
- Practical, hands‑on approach (not overly corporate)
- Self‑motivated and able to manage your own workload
Experience within automotive, engineering, or workshop environments is a big plus.
