Hear from our trainee, Millie: 'Ever since my first day, everyone has been approachable, supportive and understanding, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of work, which makes it a great environment to learn and develop.'

Does this sound like you?

  • Are you curious about how businesses work and keen to learn something new every day?
  • Do you like using technology and AI tools to work smarter, analyse information, and find answers more efficiently?
  • Are you comfortable learning new digital tools and adapting to new ways of working?
  • Do you enjoy working with people and building strong relationships?
  • Are you organised, reliable, and able to manage different priorities?

To apply for our School Leaver Apprenticeship, you’ll need

  • GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade 4/C (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Achieved or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points from your top three A Levels, BTECs, Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, or other recognised Level 3 qualifications.

We know everyone’s circumstances are different. If exceptional circumstances have affected your academic results, we’ll consider the context you provide as part of your application.

What you'll work on

From your first day, you’ll be involved in real client work, including:

  • Helping clients respond to HMRC enquiries and investigations by gathering information, reviewing evidence, and supporting case strategies.
  • Researching complex tax issues and turning technical legislation into clear, practical advice for clients.
  • Drafting client communications including letters, reports, and responses to HMRC.
  • Supporting real tax dispute cases across areas such as Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, and National Insurance.
  • Attending client meetings and calls to understand challenges, build relationships, and see how advice is delivered in practice.
  • Working with specialists across Tax, Audit, and Advisory to solve problems and deliver the best outcomes for clients.
  • Building professional qualifications and technical expertise while applying what you learn to real client situations from day one.

Your development and benefits

You do not need to be a tax expert before you join. We’ll help you build your knowledge through professional study, practical client work and day-to-day support from your team. Develop technical knowledge through funded ATT/CTA study, structured training and study leave. Learn in a supportive team, with access to a buddy, mentor and colleagues who will help you settle in. Put your learning into practice through real client work and see how your contribution supports clear and valuable outcomes. Build digital confidence by learning how tax technology, data and automation support modern client work. Whether you're already interested in tax or simply enjoy solving problems and learning new things, we'd love to hear from you. Bring your curiosity, ambition, and unique perspective to our Tax Dispute Resolution team and start building a career where you can grow, belong, and make an impact.
