Painter & Decorator
Fortus Recruitment Group Limited are a recruitment company that specialise in placing people within the repairs and maintenance industry.
An established property services contractor is looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join their growing team working in and around Staines.
This is a permanent role offering stability, varied work and the opportunity to work on a long term social housing maintenance contract.
The Role
- Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works within occupied and void residential properties
- Prepare walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork ready for decoration
- Apply emulsion, gloss and specialist finishes to a high standard
- Carry out wallpapering and decorative finishing where required
- Complete damp and mould treatment works
- Carry out external painting works, including fascia boards and soffits, using ladders safely
- Support responsive maintenance and planned refurbishment works
- Complete snagging and touch up works following other trades
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate job records and complete paperwork as required
- Deliver excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator
- Experience carrying out damp and mould treatments
- Experience with wallpapering and decorative finishes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team
- Excellent attention to detail and quality of workmanship
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Own hand tools
- Willingness to undergo relevant background and DBS checks
