Works Planner

We are currently working with a well‑established organisation that is looking to recruit an experienced Work Planner to join their responsive repairs team based in Manchester on a 12‑week temporary contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner or scheduler with a background in social housing, repairs, or maintenance who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule reactive maintenance appointments for operatives.
- Manage operatives' diaries to ensure maximum productivity and efficient scheduling.
- Monitor and manage repairs in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Liaise with operatives, supervisors, contractors, and customers to coordinate works.
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond to scheduling queries in a timely manner.
- Escalate scheduling issues or delays where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records using internal scheduling systems.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the repairs process.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as a Work Planner, Repairs Planner, Scheduler, or Resource Planner.
- Experience within social housing, repairs and maintenance, or property services is essential.
- Experience using scheduling systems such as DRS or Opti-Time is highly desirable.
- Strong administration and IT skills.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure within a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive and customer‑focused approach.
