Contract Manager – Main Contractor

Cladding Remediation Projects – London & Home Counties

Up to GBP85,000 + Package

My client, a national construction contractor, is currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to lead several new cladding remediation projects recently awarded.

You will primarily work on cladding remediation schemes for both private residential and social housing tower blocks (high & low rise). Projects will range from GBP 1 million to GBP 15 million. You will be responsible for managing a team of site managers and RLOs on each project.

The Role;

In this role, you will work alongside the Contract Manager to ensure P&L, budgets, and deadlines are met. Your responsibilities include maintaining high standards of service and quality, cost control, creating CPP & programming of works, and budgeting. You will implement strong H&S practices across all projects. Your team will include site management, supervisors, RLOs, and subcontractors. You will report directly to the Operations Director, who will support your success in this contract.

The Candidate;

The ideal candidate will have extensive building knowledge and experience managing planned maintenance and retrofit contracts. Experience managing multiple site teams, strategic project planning, and problem-solving in complex situations is essential. A good understanding of current legislation and strong organizational skills are also required.

You should be able to foster a collaborative working environment, build strong relationships with clients and team members, and drive project success.

You must also have the following:

  • Experience in internal and external schemes, including cladding remediation, retrofit, EWI/IWI/CWI, ASHPs, Solar Panels, Loft Insulation, Roofing, Heat Pumps, and Ground Pumps
  • Strong knowledge of BSR and the Building Safety Act
  • Ability to manage and motivate site teams to ensure safe and timely project delivery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Relevant building or refurbishment qualifications and health & safety certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS
  • Level 3 Leadership & Management qualification or willingness to work towards it
  • Previous experience in the social housing sector
  • Minimum of 10 years\’ experience in the construction industry
  • Technical mindset
