In this role, you\’ll combine hands-on involvement with day-to-day production and frontline leadership of your team to ensure targets are hit and quality is never compromised. This is the ideal opportunity for a proactive, people-focused leader with a strong manufacturing background who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You\’ll Be Responsible For
- Providing direction, motivation, and support to your production team to deliver against KPIs for safety, quality, output, and cost
- Actively working within the production area while balancing leadership responsibilities
- Conducting team briefings at the start of each shift—highlighting priorities, sharing KPI performance, and resolving issues
- Ensuring your team is production-ready at the start of shift, including pre-start checks and addressing any staffing or equipment issues promptly
- Planning and organising labour resources to deliver the production schedule effectively
- Working cross-functionally with management, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and drive improvements
- Upholding health & safety and quality standards in line with company policies
- Identifying issues affecting equipment or performance and taking ownership for implementing corrective actions

Qualifications
- A proven track record in a similar supervisory or team leader role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong people leadership skills and the ability to manage performance and development
- In-depth knowledge of health & safety and quality systems
- Results-driven mindset with strong planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with IT literacy (Microsoft Office and production systems)
- The confidence to lead from the front, take responsibility, and influence positive change
- Experience working with automated control systems and understanding their role in production
- Experience working in casting or ceramics environments (highly beneficial)
Desirable
- Previous experience in ceramics manufacturing
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data-driven production environments
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- Experience with Lean tools and continuous improvement practices
