Trainee Polisher in Wolverhampton

Trainee Polisher in Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton Trainee No working from home possible
F

Learn a real craft. Build a skill for life. No experience needed.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join Perrin & Rowe as a Trainee Polisher within our growing team at our manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton.

About the role

Every Perrin & Rowe tap is finished by hand. Before a casting can be plated in chrome or nickel, someone has to polish it — working the surface back until it is completely flawless. It is a skilled trade, it takes time to learn properly, and it is the reason our products look the way they do.

We are looking for people who want to learn that trade from the beginning. You do not need any polishing experience and you do not need to have worked in manufacturing before. You will join an established team of polishers, be paired with a training mentor, and work through our skills matrix step by step — starting with the basics and building up towards the ten different finishes we produce across our ranges.

What you will have at the end of it is a genuine, portable skill: hand finishing to a luxury standard. Not many people in the country can do this work. We will train you to be one of them.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Learning to polish components to the high-quality standard our brands are known for.
  • Being trained and guided by our training mentors, and progressing through the skills matrix at your own steady pace.
  • Working in line with the work instructions and procedures you are trained on.
  • Reporting any quality issues or concerns to your team leader.
  • Carrying out routine and preventative maintenance on your equipment once you are trained to do so.
  • Letting your team leader know when consumable items are running low.
  • Keeping a clean, safe working area and maintaining our 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Following Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Building good working relationships across your team and the wider site.
  • Speaking up with suggestions when you spot a better way of doing something.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:

  • A genuine interest in learning a hands‑on skilled trade — no previous polishing experience is required.
  • Patience and a good eye for detail. Polishing is precise work, and getting it right matters more than getting it done quickly.
  • Reliability. Our team works to volume targets, so turning up and keeping pace matters to the people around you.
  • A willingness to be trained in line with our skills matrix, and to take feedback from your mentor and team leader.
  • The ability to work on your feet in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Clear communication — comfortable speaking up about quality, safety, or anything you are unsure of.
  • A safety‑first attitude, for yourself and for the people working alongside you.

What your colleagues say about you:

  • You listen, you take it in, and you do not need telling twice.
  • You take pride in your work. You would rather rework a part than pass on something that is not right.
  • You are steady and dependable — the team knows what they are getting from you.
  • You get stuck in and help out without waiting to be asked.
  • You are easy to have on a team.

How You Work Matters – Our Blueprint Behaviours

Think Big, Learn Fast

  • You are curious about how things are made, and you want to keep getting better at your craft.
  • You pick things up quickly, and you are not afraid to ask when you do not know.

Work It Together

  • You share what you learn and support the people around you.
  • You draw on the experience in the team rather than struggling on alone.

Make the Hard Call

  • You stop and speak up when something is not right, rather than letting it through.
  • You know when to ask for help and when to crack on.
