Power Station Shift Operations and Maintenance Technician
Fortum O&M UK Ltd operates a gas turbine powered CHP plant in Grangemouth in central Scotland and seeks Shift Operation and Maintenance Technician to strengthen their operation and maintenance team.
Your role
In this role, you will be working as a part of a small operations and maintenance team and you will take on the responsibility for a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
- operation and maintenance of the power plant (in a continuous shift pattern)
- managing works and safety during day to day maintenance and during plant outages
- carrying out various safety and hands on maintenance etc. related activities and assisting other technical staff as necessary
- operating a Permit to Work system
- fault diagnosis and rectification as required
- management of contractors

Your qualifications
- You will be educated to HND level in mechanical, electrical or control & instrumentation.
- Experience in operations and maintenance activities in power generation or an equivalent high volume process industry utilising some or all of the following: rotating plant/steam raising plant; switchgear and protection systems; instrumentation and computerised control systems is considered an advantage.
- You are able to think logically and solve problems
- You are keen to learn and operate flexibly over a range of work areas
- You have ability to read single line drawings, P&IDs and other technical documentation
- You have necessary computer skills on Microsoft based applications
